He was only a vampire for at most two days.

Bernie is a ten year old boy who befriends Aidan who defends him from bullies. He takes Aidan's vampire DVD and when his mother finds out what's on it, she tells Aidan to stay away. Later he is run over by a car. He later dies. But is later turned by Rebecca. Later, thinking that Bernie killed two neighborhood boys in revenge for picking on him when he was alive, Aidan kills him by staking him in the back in the woods. In reality it was Marcus who killed the boys with approval, making it look like Bernie was responsible.
