Summary[]
With the vampires out of control and openly preying on humans, Mitchell is forced to impose order amongst the undead community of Bristol – and soon finds himself lauded as ‘the new Herrick’.
Manically depressed from Nina's departure, George takes his mind off things by helping Annie in her mission to reunite her former boss, Hugh, with the love of his life, Kirsty; however, their attempts at playing Cupid only serve to remind George of the loss he is feeling.
Mitchell and Lucy go on a date, but their evening ends in disaster. Nina makes a fateful decision, and then meets Kemp's boss…
Music[]
Aside from Richard Wells' original score, this episode features the following songs:
- Strange and Beautiful, by Aqualung, from the album Strange and Beautiful (2002) - playing on the soundtrack as Mitchell watches Lucy taking a statement from the victim of the vampire attack
- Employee of the Month, by The Anomalies, from the album Free Soup (2009) - playing on the soundtrack as the vampires get busy putting the funeral home back in business
- Dog Days are Over, by Florence and the Machine, from the album Lungs (2009) - playing quietly in the bar when Mitchell and Lucy meet for a drink
Quotes[]
Daisy: "You can't change them into something they're not! A shark can only ever be a shark... Maybe it's you that's in the wrong for hating what you are so much. Ever think about that?"
Mitchell: "There have to be boundaries. This is chaos - this could kill us all!"
Daisy: "Boundaries are fine, but what you're talking about is changing our nature. Think you're going to get restraint from her [ Cara ]? Good luck with that. [...] Some of us chose this life, but for most of us it was forced on them. And now here you are putting restrictions on a lifestyle they didn't even want! Stop drinking? Stay in the shadows?" [laughs]
Mitchell: "I did it."
Daisy: "Except - from what I hear - there were a few false starts. But it was fine because someone would come in and hose down the walls and straighten the paintings and bury the bones. The betrayal of your race was aided and abetted by your brothers and sisters. Do you ever think about that? No. You stand here today telling us about your big achievement like you did it all on your own!"
Mitchell: "So what are you saying?"
Daisy: "I'm saying, you've got to give a little something back! Besides, the only reason we're having this conversation is because of you and your vendetta with Herrick. Once again, a circumstance forced on us. Honey... you spend all day clearing up other people's messes... Maybe now you should clear up your own."
