A witch is an extremely powerful human with supernatural powers as a result of practicing witchcraft. While little is known about their abilities, a witch can attain eternal life by regularly ingesting human souls. Witches did not appear in the BBC version of the show, and thus far only one witch has been seen in the remake.
Abilities
The full extent of the abilities of witches has not been seen, but they have been shown to have a variety of terrifying powers, including:
- Illusion and mind manipulation
- Telekinesis
- Pyrokinesis
- Resurrection
- Longevity (through the consumption of souls)
Their magic is limited by the need for material components and verbal incantations for their more powerful spells. Even so, their power seems to be far greater than that of any other supernatural being.
